Infoteam International has been nominated for two top awards at the prestigious Wales Start-Up Awards. Our Events and Conference business, which brings together leading experts from the Cyber Security and Data Protection sectors, has been rewarded for the way in which it has pivoted to virtual events and grown significantly despite the devastation caused to our industry by the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Having started the business in Autumn 2019, Infoteam International has grown and developed strongly in the past 18 months, despite COVID single-handedly wiping out face-to-face events across the globe at a stroke.
The two awards Infoteam has been nominated for are the Valleys Start-Up of the Year, sponsored by ALS People – an award which specifically recognises businesses based in certain regions around the south Wales valleys – and the B2B Services Start-up of the Year, sponsored by Mazuma, which recognises those organisations who provide a valuable service to other businesses.
Speaking about the nominations, Company Director, Joan Tolentino, said “We are delighted that Infoteam International has once again been recognised for the hard work and tremendous effort that the whole team has put in. COVID had the potential to close our business down before it had even started, but the way the team has responded has enabled us to not only continue, but make significant progress in our journey towards our goals.
We’d also like to thank our sponsors who have committed to our virtual events this last year. As enjoyable and productive as virtual events have been, we’re all hoping to get back to face-to-face events later this year as nothing truly replaces that in-person experience in connections within business.”
The 2021 edition of the Wales Start-Up Awards, which organisers are hoping will be back in front of a live audience after being forced to move online last year, takes place at The Depot, in Cardiff, on Thursday, September 9th.
Wales Start-Up Awards are sponsored by a range of organisations with a base in Wales, including the Principality Building Society, Penderyn Distillery, Business News Wales and Tiny Rebel Brewery. There are 28 award categories, which are spread across multiple industries and cover all regions of Wales.
