In our recent Benelux event held in the Hilton, Amsterdam we discussed the new digital era of artificial intelligence, (AI). This sparked many conversations on how AI can improve businesses, or appear as a threat. Fortunately, by being wise to this digital transformation, companies can use it as a positive impact.
AI can offer an endless list of potential for C-suite executives, especially as a recent survey by Signal AI found that 44% of the c-suite executives’s most common barrier was due to an ‘overwhelming amount of data’, reporting difficulty in analysing data. Globally, only 56% of organisations rate themselves as ‘very good/extremely good’ at understanding data, by learning how to use AI as a synthetic co-worker, this barrier could potentially be improved, Splunk (2023).
Nvida is one of the leading technology focused companies currently offering solutions through the use of AI. Promoting their ‘world class and accurate speech to text’ services that aim to improve customer service, as well as offering a ‘multi-camera tracking system’ for shoppers in a retail store. With this recent boom in digital transformation, Forbes (2023) suggests that CAiO (Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer) positions especially to manage AI in a select few-companies are being created. This will enable innovative organisations to dedicate resources to optimise generative AI services from current providers such as Chat GPT. It is suggested that the CAiO will be able to develop organisations in this new digital era.
“They’re going to go after the biggest targets, knowing that our critical infrastructure is ageing, whether it’s the software, the hardware, you name it. That concerns me as a cybersecurity researcher myself,” says Jarred Capellman (SparkCognition). “I would go after the big fish. That’s a giant target that our state-sponsored threat actors are going to go after, whether domestic or abroad.” – Jarred Capellman, SparkCognition’s vice president of engineering.
Cyberattacks are suggested to be more likely with outdated systems from the 90’s, one of the many reasons that top performing companies need to be more innovative in their technology preferences. If the systems cannot ‘talk’ to each other, gaps are more likely to appear.
